Welcome Mrs. Amanda Chavez-Williams
Posted on 08/01/2017
My name is Amanda Chavez-Williams, I was born and raised here in Santa Fe.  I earned a double Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education K-8 and in Special Education K-12, with a minor in math from the University of New Mexico.  I taught for Albuquerque Public Schools at the middle school level for eight years serving multiple leadership roles within those years before deciding educational leadership was my true passion.  I returned back to school and in 2015 I received my Masters in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University.

At that time I returned back to my home and was honored to become a teacher within Santa Fe Public Schools.  I have worked at Amy Biehl Community School for two years, serving their students as a special education teacher, special education contact teacher, and 21st Century Site Coordinator.  I have taught for ten years teaching grades 3-8, focusing in math, reading, and special education. I have served as a school leader for eight years in roles which include department head, Elementary Middle School Initiative (EMSI) Coordinator, and 21st Century Site Coordinator.

I have dedicated myself to working closely with my school leaders to immerse myself in the knowledge they have had to offer, and because of their expertise and willingness to provide me opportunities, I have become a strong educational leader.   I am passionate about student success, and driven by the power of dedicated educators coming together as a team, for the betterment and growth of our children.
