Attendance, Tardiness & Early Release

Regular attendance at school is extremely important. If it is necessary for your child to miss school, please call our office at 467-3200 by 9:00 AM on the day of the absence. If your child needs to be absent for more than one day, you need to call the office on each day of the absence. If you know in advance of an absence, please let the secretary and the classroom teacher know.

Absences of more than two days require a doctor’s note upon return. Make arrangements with your child's teacher to collect work, so that your child doesn’t fall behind.

It is important that students be on time for school. When a student is late, they disrupt the entire class when they come in. They also miss a valuable part of instruction. Please be sure that your child arrives at school by 7:55 AM each day. Students will be marked tardy at 8:10 a.m.

Early Release
State law and district policy highly discourages picking up a child early. If you must pick up your child early, please sign your child out of the office and wait for them to be called up. Do not go directly to the classroom. If you pick up your child early, it will be counted the same as a tardy for that day. Five tardies and/or early pickups equal one unexcused absence.
